Discover the Relaxing Vibes of Roatan

People who like scuba diving know that Roatan has the second largest barrier reef in the world which houses hundreds of aquatic wonders like underwater gardens and shipwrecks. Each year more and more cruise lines are including Roatan in their ports of call and it is an up and coming tourist destination.

So Much Good Food

Authentic dishes like Tajadas (fried plantains), conch soup, beleada (tortilla filled with beans, cheese, and cream), rice and beans and coconut bread to name few.

Underwater Wonders

Roatan has some of the best scuba diving in the western hemisphere. The coral reefs are in great condition and the variety of underwater life is amazing. From the occasional whale shark sighting down to the macro photography wonders of frog fish and nudibranchs there is plenty to surprise and delight both divers and snorkelers.

Relaxed Atmosphere

You’ll feel like you stepped outside of time once you set foot on the island. The pace is slow and relaxing.

Discover the Need of Roatan

There is another side of Roatan that most tourists never see. More than 49% of local Roatanians live in the poverty level and have to make do with very little. Because of this great need there are many charities that have arisen to meet the challenges.

Humanitarian Efforts
There is a very large on-going need for assistance on the island. There are many groups doing great work to help those less fortunate meet their needs for even the most basic of supplies.  Everything from food to school supplies to medical assistance is needed. If you have a heart for charity there is a group on Roatan to connect with to bless others.

Environmental Concern

Many people are concerned with the protection and preservation of the natural world including the plants, animals, sea and air. There are several non-profits located in Roatan that focus on these issues.

Animal Welfare
